Two Michelin Key Secret Bay Featured in Michelin Guide’s Best Caribbean Hotels

Secret Bay, Dominica’s only Two Michelin Key property, has been featured in the Michelin Guide’s latest roundup of “The 11 Islands with the Best Hotels in the Caribbean.”

The recognition comes just months after Secret Bay earned Two Michelin Keys in the 2025 international hotel guide, a distinction reserved for properties that deliver exceptional experiences defined by character, quality, and a genuine sense of place. Similar to Michelin’s famed Stars for restaurants, the Keys recognize the world’s most remarkable hotels.

In this latest feature, Michelin focuses exclusively on Caribbean hotels awarded Two Keys or more. Secret Bay is the only property in Dominica included.

Here’s how Michelin describes the resort:

“The Nature Island’s self-described six-star resort is dominated by rainforest-to-ocean views, reached via a 293-foot hillside funicular. Up top, 27 locally sourced Guyanese hardwood and red cedar villas have been built into cliffs, using no heavy machinery to better preserve the landscape. Waterfall canyoning, whale encounters and rainforest hikes are just a few of the activities to indulge in by day; dedicated hosts replace traditional reception service, delivering organic breakfast baskets with farm-fresh ingredients daily.”

The Michelin Guide story was picked up by Parade, which explained how inspectors narrowed down the list. Michelin first awarded Keys to 50 hotels across 21 Caribbean islands. For this feature, they focused only on the best of those: Two Key properties across 11 islands. These hotels were chosen for excellence in architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall character, value for the price, and how meaningfully each property contributes to its surroundings.

What Michelin recognized is what guests have been saying for years: Secret Bay is all about character, service that feels genuine, and a deep connection to place. For travelers with Dominica on their bucket list and seeking a luxury hideaway with a private villa, plunge pool, and dedicated villa host, make this your year to book a stay. Getting here is easier than ever, with direct flights from Miami and Newark on American Airlines and United Airlines, plus Contour Airlines connections through San Juan.
