Secret Bay Featured In Story About Unforgettable Travel Experiences
At Secret Bay, we’re known for the wealth of experiences we provide guests on and off the resort grounds. Among the most notable are our cooking classes. After all, locally sourced food is an important aspect of the personalized experience here at Secret Bay and thus, we offer cooking classes that teach you how to prepare some of Dominica’s most loved signature dishes.
In its July issue, Recommend Magazine featured our cooking classes as one of their “Top 5 Unforgettable Experiences” with a special focus on Chef Eric Subin’s exotic lion fish recipes. The lion fish is an introduced species that threatens our native reef fish, so this dish in particular complements the ecologically-sound practices of our resort. Guests can also partake in an exciting prelude to the cooking class and, with nothing but snorkel gear and a guide, spear the lion fish themselves.
Once caught, you may prepare your lion fish in a number of different ways in the comfort of your own villa. Secret Bay’s Sales and Marketing Coordinator, Areola George, told Recommend Magazine about our favorite lion fish recipes practiced in the classes. “One of Chef Eric’s favorite ways to cook lion fish is crisp skinned served with roasted pumpkin puree, lime beurre blanc, and topped with crispy potato strings,” she said.
Many of the recipes you make at Secret Bay’s cooking classes can be replicated using locally sourced ingredients back home. Learn more about our cooking classes here.
