New Amenities

Thoughtful luxuries for a serene Caribbean escape, arriving 2021.

Since opening our doors just 10 years ago, Secret Bay has become world-renowned for its inspired vision to merge natural wonder and modern luxury amid the coastal jungle of Dominica. And now, this vision is expanding. We are thrilled to welcome three brand-new amenities to Secret Bay in 2021, each of which reflects our commitment to the resort’s ethos of intimacy, indulgence and an incomparable six-star experience. Make a grand entrance at the architectural Mouben Welcome House and access your private villa home with total ease via the annexed funicular; delight in contemporary art, craft beer and gourmet eats at the Bwa Denn: Food, Art & Brewery; and soak in nature with a cocktail in hand at the Gwiyavye’ Lap Pool & Bar. Within each thoughtfully designed space awaits an entirely novel Secret Bay experience.

Mouben Welcome House & Funicular

No arrival at Secret Bay is complete without a grand entrance. The Mouben Welcome House is both an architectural feat and our new resort hub where guests are invited to jumpstart their transformative journey at Secret Bay — all complemented by our unique “no front desk” concept, allowing guests to check in and out directly from their villas. Modern in design and organic by nature, the new structure features a porte-cochere for seamless entry and a fleet of electric vehicles for transportation to your villa, as well as effortless access to Secret Bay’s funicular, Bwa Denn: Food, Art & Brewery and serene beachfront. Inside, find our new Adventure Concierge Desk to plan an array of life-altering island experiences and ensure that you get everything you want and more out of your stay.

The Funicular

Custom designed to fit up to six guests, Secret Bay’s new energy-efficient funicular allows guests to revel in the sights and sounds of the rainforest while seamlessly accessing three areas of the resort, including The Residences at Secret Bay’s Clifftop Estates, Hillside Ti-Fèy Villas and Waterfront Villa Estates. Simply board the covered carriage from the Mouben Welcome House, ascend 400 linear feet into Secret Bay’s coastal jungle and effortlessly reach your destination within a matter of minutes.

Bwa Denn: Food, Art & Brewery

Experience a creative and cultural immersion like no other at Secret Bay’s brand-new Bwa Denn: Food, Art & Brewery. Embraced by the sights and sounds of the rainforest with extensive ocean vistas, the modern minimalist two-level structure features a contemporary Caribbean and Latin American art collection of over 100+ distinct pieces, as well as a casual gourmet all-day restaurant helmed by Executive Chef Fábio Fernandes, a full-service bar, hip microbrewery, private dining and conference space, mini theater, cutting-edge wine cellar and rooftop lounge. Admire inspiring works either from the ground floor or the internally suspended view deck, sit down to hyperlocal eats like pizza with dasheen crust and sustainably-sourced sushi on the outdoor terrace, sip on craft beer brewed directly on-site with unique local ingredients and — above all — revel in a refreshed Nature Island experience. The opportunities at Bwa Denn are endless.

Gwiyavye’ Lap Pool & Bar

Go for a dip in the jungle with a craft cocktail in hand at Secret Bay’s new Gwiyavye’ Lap Pool & Bar. Set to spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea amid an orchard of guava trees, the relaxing oceanfront destination features an in-nature lap pool for guests to use at their own leisure, a cantilevered deck with lounge chairs to soak up the warm Dominican sunshine and a spacious, full-service bar handcrafted with Guyanese Greenheart where our expert bartender will serve up your favorite island sips.
