Wall Street Journal Features Secret Bay in Special Feature on Going Local – and Luxe on a Caribbean Vacation
When it comes to exploring an expansive island, Wall Street Journal writer, Alison Humes, is no stranger to uncovering the true secrets behind its natural beauty. In this special feature that graced the cover of The Wall Street Journal‘s Off Duty section, she ventures to Dominica and takes an eye-opening journey that leads her to believe “fly-and-flop” vacations are out and life experiences should be sought out instead.
Alison was greeted by Secret Bay Gregor Nassief, “who picked [her] up at the airport to drive [her] across the island to Secret Bay.” Upon arrival Alison was left to settle into her villa “an airy wood pavilion with a small kitchen balanced at the edge of a cliff. A local yogini came by to help [her] get the post-flight kinks out—[they] spread [their] mats on the deck by the plunge pool, stretched and meditated while looking out at the sea.”
Alison’s evocative narrative of her experience perfectly captures the spirit of the island and all who inhabit it.
