The Luxury Travel edition of the Telegraph, in article titled “Away from the crowds in Dominica’s Secret Bay” in reference to Secret Bay adding two new villas – Zabuco II and Zabuco III – states, “So the news that Secret Bay, the island’s loveliest hotel, has plans to expand is to be welcomed.” The article goes no to say, “Like the original villas and bungalows, the two new ones are modern structures perched high on stilts so that the living space is above the tree canopy to ensure views out to sea. Although there’s a lot of glass, and the stilts and supports are poured concrete, the principal material is wood: Guyanese greenheart for the walls, floors, decks and louvres, indigenous red cedar for the locally made furniture. Even the name of the new structures, Zabuco II and III, comes from a local tree, otherwise known as the bois bande (bwa bande in Creole), the bark of which is held to have aphrodisiac properties.”
