Featured Staff: Megan

Megan has been with us since we opened, so we reckoned it was high time she had a chance to share with everyone her thoughts on what working at Secret Bay means to her!

SB: You have been at Secret Bay since it opened. What makes you stay?
M: Atmosphere, staff, meeting new people. I love interacting with my guests and making their vacation special.. especially those who have spent years saving up for their vacation… all guests are special and I try my best to make them feel that way.

SB: You are always coming up with new ways to make guests experience more special. Can you give us an example or two?
M: Since its the sexiest hotel in the Caribbean, I tend to use the villa to keep it that way since most of them come as honeymooners… so I use a lot of candles, bubble bath, set up the sunset deck or poolside for romantic dinners, or suggest a sunset cruise in the late afternoon.

SB: What is the best thing a guest ever said to you?
M: Usually it’s when they say: “Megan would you like to quit your job and come back to the States (or wherever they come from) with me… or would you like to hide in my luggage?” But what really makes me know I made their stay special is if they leave me a note in the morning when they are departing and I am not here.

SB: When you aren’t working, what is your special place on Dominica?
M: My favourite place is my home, because I love spending time with my family. However, If we go out we love this beach in Marigot called Sand Bay. Tourists hardly know it as it’s hidden. It’s really gorgeous.
