Dominica ZIKA Update
There has been only one reported case of Zika in Dominica and we are being very proactive in dealing with Zika in Dominica.
We are doing everything we need to – at the country level and within the tourism sector and at Secret Bay – to ensure any potential breeding grounds are eradicated.
We are also especially confident in the abilities of the Ministry of Health, Solid Waste Management and Environmental Health Departments in educating the public and taking proactive measures to minimize the possibility of Zika spreading in Dominica.
Secret Bay is not known to have many mosquitos due to the elevation of our units and the cooling sea breezes. All the properties are fitted with anti-mosquito screens and mosquito repellant is provided at no charge. All bedrooms are also air conditioned. Our team also performs daily inspections in and around Secret Bay to identify and remove all potential mosquito breeding grounds. We also perform periodic safe fogging at the resort and in the surrounding areas.
Secret Bay continues to work with the Ministry of Health to ensure that our property remains free of the Zika virus.
